We are hiring
Video Editor /
Social Media Manager
A content creator at heart who is extremely good at video editing. You come up with the ideas, film them, edit them and turn them into short-form video and carousels, both for our own brand and for our clients’ accounts. You would run the accounts as well and report on how the work performed.
- Where
- Lagos
- In the office
- Three days a week
- Hours
- Full time
- Experience
- Three years or more
Key responsibilities
Content ideation
You come up with the ideas. Nobody hands you a brief on Monday morning.
Videography
Filming in the office, on location, and on client premises.
Video editing and post production
Short-form video for our own brand and for our clients’ accounts. This is the biggest part of the job.
Graphic design
Carousels built in Canva on our existing brand kit, for us and for clients.
Platform packaging
Formatting each piece for where it is going: aspect ratio, trims, on screen text, tags, hashtags and posting time. Copywriting sits with our Content Lead, so when something will not work on a platform you raise it with her or with me rather than rewriting it.
Publishing and scheduling
Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, on our accounts and on our clients’.
Community management
Comments, replies and direct messages.
Content calendar management
The calendar is yours to hold.
Performance reporting
The weekly numbers on how the work performed.
Asset management
Footage, project files and exports named, organised and backed up, so anybody can open a finished job a month later and find everything where it should be.
What you work in
- CapCut
- Canva
- Meta Business Suite
- Notion
Edit in whatever you edit in. Premiere, DaVinci, whatever you learned on. What we will ask about is the choices you made in the edit. The app you made them in does not matter to us. Carousels are the exception: those are Canva, because that is where our brand kit lives.
Who this is for
You can really edit
Most people who apply can edit something clean. We are looking for the one whose work we watch twice without meaning to, and whose edits we could pick out of ten others.
Three years, at least
Three years actually doing this, not three years near it. Long enough to have got something usable out of a bad shoot.
You already run a page of your own
One you have been posting on for a while, with your own work on it. It is the first thing we will open.
You can make it work anywhere
A room with other people in it, a client’s premises, ten minutes and one light. You still come back with something.
You can build a carousel people finish
Ten slides is one idea told in order. The first has to be strong enough that somebody stops, and each one after has to earn the swipe. Ours are made in Canva, on a kit that already exists.
You want the unglamorous half too
The scheduling, the captions, the reporting. If you are hoping to hand that off once you are in, this is not the job.
Your kit works
A laptop that can carry an edit and a phone that shoots properly. Both yours, both checked on a call before any offer.

Who you would work with
There is nobody between you and the person whose name is on the door.
You report to the founder, and there is no layer of managers in between. That does not mean somebody watching over every edit. The accounts are yours to run and the work is yours to make. You are being hired to own it, not to wait for approval on it.
The practical bits
Applications close on 30 September.
One rule on anything you have running of your own: our work goes out on the day we said it would, and nothing on the side gets to move that day. If you already know that will be hard, this is the point to stop reading.
